The Short Version
We’re a tiny team of full-time travelers who got tired of terrible travel advice and overpriced “unique” stays. So we started collecting the good stuff: places that actually feel special, routes that still work on normal money, and tips that don’t sound like they were written by a robot in 2015.
How It Started
One winter night in a $35 Georgian guesthouse with snow falling through the roof crack (romantic, not tragic), we realized two things:
The best nights of our lives rarely cost more than a bad city hotel.
Nobody was sharing these places properly.
So BD Travel Homes was born over too much house wine and a shared Google Doc that got dangerously long.
Who We Actually Are
Ana – ex-architect, capsule-hotel addict, can pack a 38L bag in 7 minutes flat
Leo – photographer who will hike 2 hours for the “wrong” viewpoint if it’s empty
Marta – numbers wizard who still finds $40 flights in 2026 and refuses to tell us how
You – the moment you bookmark one of our guides or sleep in a treehouse because of this site

What We Believe
Travel isn’t about ticking boxes or getting the perfect photo.
It’s about waking up somewhere that makes you whisper “no way this is real” at least once a day.
Everything else (itineraries, prices, exact bus numbers) is just there to get you to that moment without going broke or insane.
No Sponsors, No BS
We don’t accept free stays, sponsored posts, or affiliate links that pay more than a coffee.
If we link a booking site, it’s because it’s the cheapest one right now.
If we say a capsule hotel is clean, it’s because we woke up there without itching.
Where We Are Right Now
Literally? One of us is probably on a night train with questionable Wi-Fi.
Figuratively? Exactly where you are: planning the next escape that feels a little impossible, until it isn’t.
Thanks for stopping by.
Now stop reading and go book something weird.
We’ll leave the light on (probably a solar one in a glass igloo).
Pick a guide, choose a weird home, pack light, and go.
See you out there.
